In this letter, ALI urges OSTP to prioritize investments in education research and development (R&D) to expand the evidence base needed to equip a leading workforce in advanced manufacturing, ready to meet priorities in national security, international competitiveness, healthcare, and economic development.

In November 2025, ALI submitted a letter providing input on the National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing. In the letter, ALI  recommends that the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), on behalf of the Subcommittee on Advanced Manufacturing of the National Science and Technology Council, support the scaling of education innovations aligned with advanced manufacturing workforce and industry-driven needs through strategic public-private partnerships and federal cross-agency coordination and leadership.

ALI conducts advocacy work thanks to financial support from the Walton Education Coalition (WEC).
