Nina Bhatia

Nina Bhatia is the Associate Director, Talent & Operations at the Alliance for Learning Innovation (ALI).

Nina’s dad was from India, and Nina’s mom is from Norway. Nina is a first-generation college graduate, thanks to her parents’ belief in her and great K-12 public school teachers. It was in college that she learned about America’s inequitable educational systems. Why do some children attend schools and benefit from systems that maximize their potential, and others get left behind? As a result, she has spent her career focused on changing that reality as an educator, including as a teacher, school leader, and at a large public school district. 

She has spent over ten years doing work related to People, Culture, and Operations, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance, engagement, organizational development, compliance, and manager effectiveness. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Southern Methodist University and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. Nina lives in Seattle and enjoys traveling to see family and friends who live throughout the United States. She loves to read and bake her mom’s recipes.
