Read ALI and FAI’s joint response to the Department of War’s RFI, with recommendations for identifying and developing high-potential K-12 STEM talent in every community.
The Alliance for Learning Innovation and the Foundation for American Innovation jointly responded to the Department of War’s (DoW) Request for Information on improving domestic top-tier K-12 STEM talent development. The response urges the DoW to build on federally funded programs with demonstrated evidence and to require reporting on outcomes from the start. It also calls on the DoW to reach high-potential students in rural, military-connected, and low-income communities through universal screening and new data collection. ALI and FAI recommend that the Department also coordinate with other federal agencies and build philanthropic and private-sector co-investment into multi-institution STEM consortia.
ALI conducts advocacy work thanks to financial support from the Walton Education Coalition (WEC).
